Will they draft the Home Run King or the Prince of Versatility?
Most assume they will select Arizona State first baseman Spencer Torkelson on Wednesday night with the first pick in the Major League Baseball draft. He has prodigious power, hitting 54 home runs in a college career cut short by the coronavirus pandemic. And he would fill a desperate need in the Tigers' system.
But Vanderbilt's do-everything Austin Martin also is a great, though different, player.
You can make a solid argument the Tigers should take Martin, who is widely considered the other top player in this draft, because he can hit, play defense and run.
