It felt like playoff weather.
The hooded sweatshirts were on, so were the winter hats inside the dugout before Saturday’s game against the White Sox in chilly Chicago. The Tigers crowded around a space heater.
But the team’s exposure to the October elements was short-lived.
For the first time in five years, the Tigers are not playing in playoff weather. They finished 74-87, last in the American League Central, and will join the rest of the baseball world in watching the postseason, which began Tuesday night with the AL wild-card game between the Astros and Yankees.
