With discussions from MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred regarding expansion seeming to gain more momentum every day, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before we see baseball move into new cities, and to quote Hamilton, “It’s not a question of if, Burr, but which one[s]?”
If Manfred’s expansion dreams do come true, it will mean that those new franchises in, say, Portland and Montreal, will need to fill their rosters, and they will come to the current clubs to pluck the best available fruit from their fields and farms.
Twitter user Stephen Josiah recently posited this very question for his followers, and it has stuck with me since, so thanks to Stephen for this fun thought experiment.
