For the foreseeable future, the Tigers organization will be greeting a lot of fresh faces from the minor leagues, while also bringing on veteran players in the offseason to fill the most essential gaps. It’s the way any good rebuild works: mix the new with the old (no offense, veterans).
The current 2019 roster is a great example of this, with young blood like Christin Stewart rubbing shoulders with the newly acquired Jordy Mercer and Josh Harrison. It’s a pretty fun team so far, but it doesn’t have the mix of familiar faces that make a new baseball season feel like coming home.
