"There is something special about listening to a Tigers game on the radio, and the team at CBS Radio continues its standard of excellence in their coverage of Tigers baseball," Tigers executive vice president of business operations Duane McLean said in a statement.
The Tigers first moved their games to AM 1270 in 2001. CBS Radio later added 97.1 FM to the broadcast network as a way to better reach listeners. In addition, the Tigers radio network includes nearly 40 stations across Michigan and into northwest Ohio and Indiana.
The new deal continues pre- and postgame shows hosted by Tigers play-by-play broadcaster Dan Dickerson, who will continue to do a weekly Hot Stove show in the offseason.
