Two former Major League Baseball players were linked to a major drug-trafficking and money-laundering ring by officials in the Dominican Republic Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.
One of the players pitched in the World Series for the Detroit Tigers.
Police arrested Octavio Dotel – who pitched for 13 teams, including the Tigers, in a 15-year career – and cited Luis Castillo – a three-time All-Star who played from 1996-2010 – for their involvement in the network of César Emilio Peralta, also known as "César the Abuser."
