It does not look like the Detroit Tigers will be playing baseball until at least May.
Major League Baseball will delay the start of the regular season in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control recommendations to restrict events of more than 50 people for the next eight weeks, the league announced Monday.
The eight-week point would be May 11, perhaps putting a best-case scenario on the start of the regular season at Memorial Day, May 25: Given the eight-week layoff, players would certainly need at least two weeks to tune-up for the regular season.
