Detroit Tigers shortstop Willi Castro had quite the rookie season.
In 36 games, the 23-year-old hit .349 with six home runs and 24 RBIs. However, his production wasn't enough to make him an American League Rookie of the Year finalist, as voted on and then released Monday by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
The three finalists are Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert, Seattle Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis and Houston Astros right-hander Cristian Javier. The winner will be announced at 6 p.m. Nov. 9 on MLB Network.
