The team’s most recent game, an 11-4 drubbing of the Houston Astros on Saturday, featured four home runs and two shutout innings by Justin Verlander.
It Detroit’s first win of the spring against Major League opposition.
Saturday’s game also featured plenty of contributions from players expected to play significant roles on the 2017 roster.
Blaine Hardy, Mark Lowe, Alex Wilson and Justin Wilson fired off scoreless innings in relief, while Ian Kinsler, Victor Martinez, Justin Upton, James McCann and Andrew Romine tallied RBIs.
