Detroit Tigers unraveling in sixth inning leads to 7-2 loss in Seattle

SEATTLE — Mike Fiers, nearing 100 pitches, wanted to go back out for the sixth inning, with the Detroit Tigers trailing, 3-2.

Manager Ron Gardenhire obliged. Fiers, who hadn't walked anyone in the first five innings, gave up a leadoff walk to Kyle Seager.

Artie Lewicki replaced Fiers and the Mariners went on to score four runs in the inning. The Tigers went on to lose, 7-2, on Saturday night at Safeco Field.

Mariners left-hander James Paxton recorded his second complete game of the season, allowing two runs on three hits, including a solo home run to Victor Martinez in the second inning.
