TORONTO — The Detroit Tigers keep trying. They also keep losing.
Their 4-3 loss on Saturday at Rogers Centre came on a walk-off home run by Justin Smoak in the ninth inning.
That extended the Tigers losing streak to a season-high 11 games.
There was a heaviness in the visiting clubhouse atfterward.
"Power versus power," Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said of the Smoak's 11th home run of the season. "That's what happens in those situations. He's going to go in there and pump it in there and try to punch him out. Tried to elevate it a little bit.
