The Detroit Tigers traded left-hander Matt Hall to the Boston Red Sox on Friday for catcher Jhon Nunez, the team announced.
Nunez, 25, hit .280 in 64 games with five home runs and 21 RBIs for Double-A Portland in 2019. He is a .260 hitter in seven minor league seasons.
Nunez was acquired as organizational depth at catcher. He will be invited to Major League spring training as a non-roster invitee.
