Casey Mize, the number one pitching prospect in all of baseball, caused quite the stir amongst Detroit Tigers fans on Thursday night. The right-hander left his start for Double-A Erie against the Reading Fightin Phils with an apparent injury in the third inning.
As the Tigers were battling the Kansas City Royals in Omaha to kick off the College World Series festivities, the former Auburn star, and number one overall pick captured much of the drama on Thursday night. As Emily Waldon of The Athletic reports on Twitter, Mize left the game with shoulder soreness.
