Casey Mize, the Detroit Tigers' No. 1 pick in the June draft, made his Class A Advanced Lakeland Flying Tigers debut on Monday.
It did not disappoint.
Mize pitched three innings, allowing one hit while striking out four. He made 44 pitches, 28 for strikes.
This followed his Gulf Coast League debut last week, when he struck out four with one walk in two hitless innings.
