As the rough 2019 Detroit Tigers season rolls along, the injury bug has come for one of the team’s hottest players as of late. Per CBS Sports, the Tigers have placed centerfielder JaCoby Jones on the 10-Day IL after leaving Wednesday afternoon’s game with back spasms.
Although an MRI came back negative, the team is still placing Jones on the 10-Day IL to give him time to recover. Losing Jones means that Detroit will be without its hottest hitter in the batter’s box as of late.
One could definitely make a case for Jones being the team MVP for the month of June (especially considering how June went for this team).
