There was Listerine, yogurt, relish, and, yes, shaving cream. Lots of it. So much that locker neighbor Edwin Jackson — 12 years his senior — wore it all over the back of his hooded sweatshirt.

Finally, Tyler Alexander had a major league win.

Finally? Alexander, the Detroit Tigers’ rookie left-hander, had only pitched in 10 games before Monday’s 5-2 win against the Orioles at Comerica Park.

“About time, right?” he said. “I wish it came a little bit sooner, but I’m not complaining.
