TAMPA — With the Detroit Tigers’ starting rotation seemingly set, it could be all for naught, but Spencer Turnbull is showing out this spring.
Turnbull, who is likely ticketed for Triple-A Toledo, has been one of the Tigers’ best two starting pitchers this spring, along with right-hander Jordan Zimmermann.
The righty threw two scoreless innings against Yankees regulars on Friday night, allowing one infield single and striking out three batters.
