TORONTO — It’s been somewhat of a normal week for Spencer Turnbull — except that it began with a handshake from Detroit Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire with the best news of his career.
That was on Monday. He let it soak in for a night before flying to Toronto on Tuesday. On Thursday, he threw a bullpen session before the Tigers' extra-innings win on Opening Day.
