The Detroit Tigers, deep in another rebuilding season full of losses, plan to be extremely cautious with rookie pitcher Spencer Turnbull.
After experiencing right shoulder fatigue in Thursday’s 3-1 loss to the Texas Rangers, Turnbull was placed on the 10-day injured list before Friday’s series opener against the Washington Nationals at Comerica Park.
Though Thursday's MRI scan came back clean, Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said there’s no point in rushing him back.
