PHILADELPHIA — In a city known for its history, Spencer Turnbull walked into the Detroit Tigers’ clubhouse on Tuesday night carrying some history of his own.
It came in a photo album, with pictures of his grandfather over the years.
He was gifted the album from his great uncle, Bob, who lives in the Philadelphia area and was at Citizens Bank Park to watch Turnbull pitch for the first time in the majors. Turnbull never met his grandfather – he died when his father, Jim, was young – but he certainly would be impressed with the way his grandson is establishing himself in the big leagues.
