Detroit Tigers shut out in season finale, end season with 98 losses

MILWAUKEE — It had to end this way, with nine zeroes on the scoreboard, the number most indicative of the Detroit Tigers’ offensive struggles this season.

They came to Miller Park with an opportunity to play the spoiler and fought the Brewers until the end in the first two games of the series, but on Sunday, they were shut out in an 11-0 loss.

The Tigers finished their 2018 campaign at 64-98, matching their win total from the previous season, in which they tied for the worst record in baseball.
