Detroit Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias left Thursday’s game against the Kansas City Royals after taking a pitch off his hand while attempting to bunt in the third inning.
The ball hit the shortstop square in the right fingers. Iglesias rolled on the ground for several seconds before the Tigers trainer met him and helped him to the clubhouse.
Based on how animated Iglesias was after getting hit, the FOX Sports Detroit announcers Mario Impemba and Rod Allen were speculating that the shortstop might have a few broken fingers or a broken hand, which would result in Iglesias missing the rest of the season.
