Detroit Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire knows the 2020 season will look and sound much different from any other previous year in baseball. From a 60-game schedule to not having fans at Comerica Park, it’s going to take some getting used to.
Training camp begins July 1 with games starting July 24. Further guidelines will be implemented by teams and Major League Baseball as necessary, but one new rule could force Gardenhire to wear a face mask in the dugout.
“If I have to wear a mask, that’s definitely going to be really different,” he said, “but if that’s what it takes to keep myself healthy and everybody else healthy, that’s what we’ll do.
