At Comerica Park
What happened: The Detroit Tigers beat the Texas Rangers, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at Comerica Park. The game was never in question after the Tigers scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning, chasing left-hander Cole Hamels. Nicholas Castellanos opened the scoring with a solo shot. Hamels wasn’t helped by his defense: Delino DeShields Jr. misplayed a line drive in center field, allowing three runs to score. Mike Fiers continued his strong pitching, allowing one run over six innings. The Tigers have won two straight games.
