Detroit Tigers provide more of the same in return home, lose 5-3 to Rangers

Give the Detroit Tigers credit for consistency. They returned after a bad road trip and delivered another unsavory performance in front of the Comerica Park fans.

Another night of mediocre pitching, fielding miscues and a mostly punchless attack led to a 5-3 loss to the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. The Tigers have lost five straight, nine of their last 10 overall and 18 of their last 20 at home.

Jordan Zimmermann, making his second start since recovering from a UCL sprain, lasted five innings and allowed three runs on nine hits.

The Tigers were limited to five hits before Ronny Rodriguez's two-out homer in the ninth.
