Detroit Tigers prospects Manning, Stewart crack ESPN's Top 100 list

Two Detroit Tigers – and possibly more – have cracked Keith Law’s Top 100 prospects list.

Starting pitcher Matt Manning and outfielder Christin Stewart were both ranked in the back-end of the ESPN Insider’s best prospects in baseball.

Manning was ranked No. 82 and Stewart No. 92.

Manning, 18, was the Tigers’ first round draft pick (No. 9 overall) in last year’s MLB draft. He posted a 3.99 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 10 starts with the Gulf Coast League Tigers last season.

About Manning, Law writes: “He’s all upside at this point, a great athlete blessed with a golden arm, but the Tigers have a lot of work to do, from figuring out his breaking ball to teaching him a changeup to helping him learn to pitch instead of blowing guys away with velocity.
