LAKELAND, Fla. — Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene exited Friday's spring training game with a foot injury.
He is awaiting the results of X-rays. The severity of his injury is unclear.
Facing New York Yankees starter Gerrit Cole, Greene fouled a pitch off the inside part of his foot before hitting a sixth-pitch changeup for a triple to center field.
Greene stayed on the bases and came around to score, but after the third inning, he was removed from the game and limped down the right-field line with a trainer.
