After canceling TigerFest for the past two winters because of COVID-19, the Detroit Tigers are planning to hold something similar to kickoff the second half of the season after the All-Star break.
The Tigers announced details Friday for “Detroit’s Biggest Summer Baseball Bash,” scheduled for Saturday, July 17 when they play the Minnesota Twins.
It won’t be as big as TigerFest — traditionally an all-day event held in the dead of winter.
But it should be similar. This year's event will also honor hundreds of frontline and essential workers, who will be in attendance and recognized in a pregame ceremony.
