Detroit Tigers' pitching yet to spring into action in Florida

LAKELAND, Fla. – The pitching again wasn’t good enough.

Anibal Sanchez gave up two home runs in the Detroit Tigers’ 11-1 loss to the New York Yankees on Saturday at Joker Marchant Stadium.

The Tigers lost their third straight and have been outscored, 27-4, in that stretch.

When asked about the continued struggles from the pitching staff, manager Brad Ausmus said: “Yell at the team? We gotta pitch better.”

Maybe he didn’t yell at them, but Ausmus said he talked to the team Saturday about the need for better pitching. Then they struggled again.
