Opening Day in Detroit has been rescheduled.
With rain expected nearly all of Thursday, the Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates postponed their regular-season opener for 24 hours. As a steady rain fell around 9 a.m. and the temperature in the mid-40’s, the announcement was made on the Comerica Park scoreboard.
The postponement marks the second consecutive year the Tigers were rained out on Opening Day.
