Despite the chill in the air in metro Detroit, the 2018 Major League Baseball season opens on March 29 and the Detroit Tigers host Opening Day against the Pirates that day at Comerica Park.
And with Opening Day being an unofficial holiday where people ordinarily tailgate downtown hours before the 1:10 p.m. first pitch, it's a good idea to check that super-early weather forecast.
According to weather.com, the March 29 forecast calls for temperatures in the low-to-mid 50s. But, it also calls for "a few showers" through the day.
The website puts the chance for rain at 30 percent.
