LAKELAND, Fla. -- Omar Infante has played well enough in spring training to earn a spot on a major league roster, but it probably won’t be with the Detroit Tigers.
Barring an injury, the chances of him making the Tigers' 25-man roster on Opening Day are slim. He’d likely have to be a second utility player. Andrew Romine, who can play any position, is a lock to make the team. He leads the Tigers with seven hits this spring, batting .333 over 10 games.
Dixon Machado, who is out of contract options, also seems likely to make the roster.
