Right-hander Spencer Turnbull had another good outing, but the Tigers’ bats suddenly went cold as they were held to two hits.
Turnbull made his third start and struggled with his fastball command through three innings. But he gave up only one run on one hit with two walks and three strikeouts. He threw 48 pitches, 25 for strikes.
C.J. Cron and Jordy Mercer got the Tigers’ only hits. In their previous two games, the Tigers scored 28 runs combined.
