The Detroit Tigers lost their fourth and final game against the Mariners in Seattle earlier today despite an excellent pitching performance from Matthew Boyd and the bullpen. The game went into extra innings tied 2-2 and the Mariners won on a walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth inning, completing the four-game sweep.
Boyd pitched 6.1 innings and only gave up three hits and one earned run. He recorded 10 strikeouts and three walks. After Boyd was done, Buck Farmer and Blaine Hardy both recorded outs without giving up a run.
