KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As the trade deadline approaches, it’s fair to wonder how many starts Matthew Boyd has left in a Detroit Tigers uniform.
Though it's entirely likely Boyd will stay with the team past the July 31 trade deadline — the Tigers' asking price for Boyd fairly represents his value as a cost-controlled left-hander — there remains a chance that a contending team will offer the necessary prospects to nab Boyd.
With multiple talent evaluators in attendance, Boyd did nothing to lessen his trade interest. In fact, with his third consecutive double-digit strikeout performance, Boyd likely only upped the interest.
