The Detroit Tigers’ won the penultimate game of their 2019 season in dramatic fashion Saturday night, avoiding a sweep by the White Sox in the nightcap of a straight doubleheader.
Down two runs in the top of the ninth inning, John Hicks hit a pinch-hit, three-run home run off White Sox closer Alex Colome for the 4-2 win.
Hicks’ home run was his 13th of the season and second pinch-hit homer.
