FORT MYERS, Fla. — Tyson Ross finally got off the schneid, throwing four scoreless innings in his far-and-away best performance this spring training.
Ross, who wasn’t in danger of losing a starting rotation spot, even after three consecutive struggles to start the spring, was impressive against the Twins. He allowed just one hit – a single to Ehire Adrianza in the bottom of the third inning – and didn’t walk anybody. Ross struck out five batters.
In the play of the game, Adrianza was erased from first base when Miguel Cabrera successfully pulled the hidden ball trick.
