MINNEAPOLIS — The Detroit Tigers headed north on the heels of a blowout, and the winningest team in the major leagues was not a good antidote.
The Tigers were blown out again on Friday night, losing 6-0 to the Twins. They have not scored in 18 consecutive innings.
Right-hander Tyson Ross was roughed up for a second straight start, allowing six runs on six hits in five innings, and opposing righty Jake Odorizzi made it look easy.
Odorizzi allowed hard-hit balls in the top of the first inning — Christin Stewart doubled — but did not allow another baserunner, retiring 20 straight batters to finish his day after seven innings.
