With the first pick in the 2020 MLB draft, the Detroit Tigers were poised to make history by taking Arizona State’s Spencer Torkelson — making him the first right-handed first baseman taken No. 1 overall in the 56-year history of the draft.
Well … we were half right: They did take Torkelson — but as a third baseman, a position he never played in college or on Team USA.
