Nicholas Castellanos was among the last Detroit Tigers to arrive at his locker late Monday night, with his son, Liam, at his side.
Castellanos has been banged up recently; he missed Sunday’s game after he fouled a pitch off his foot and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he had been battling other issues, which prevented him from having the kind of games that he had against the White Sox.
But this game, for Castellanos, was a career-best: The Tigers right fielder went 5-for-5 with five RBI, hitting the game-winning home run in a 9-5 win over the White Sox.
