For an eight-year-old Panamanian boy, this week marked the realization of a four-year dream. Eric Rojas was only four years old when he fought to save his own life against Hodgkins Lymphoma, and the whole time he did it, he had a mission in mind: meeting his baseball hero Victor Martinez.
This week, the Make-A-Wish foundation helped young Eric make that dream a reality, by flying the Rojas family to Detroit for a chance to meet his idol. Martinez even signed a bat for the emotional boy, writing in Spanish, “For my great friend with much love.
