If everything goes well, the Detroit Tigers will have their slugger back for their next game. Miguel Cabrera has been going through pregame drills throughout the week, and will step things up on Friday. According to MLB.com’s Jason Beck, Cabrera will run the bases and take grounders before the game, and could be activated in time for Detroit’s series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Cabrera’s return will be a big lift for the Tigers, who have stayed afloat (relatively speaking) during his absence. He has been their best hitter this year, batting .
