Happy Opening Day, everyone! No, you’re not stuck in a Bill Murray film. Thanks to inclement weather, the Detroit Tigers postponed their season opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. That pesky scheduled off day has finally come in handy, though; the Tigers and Pirates will square off at the same time (1:10 p.m. ET) on Friday.
Before we celebrate, however, we must pay our respects to former Tiger Rusty Staub, who passed away on Thursday morning. Staub spent four of his 23 major league seasons with the Tigers, from 1976 to 1979.
