BOSTON — The Detroit Tigers have a new leadoff hitter – for now.
With second baseman Josh Harrison struggling at the top of the lineup, manager Ron Gardenhire has decided to move him down in the order as Harrison works on finding some footing at the plate.
“I just think when you’re going through scuffles right now and you’re trying to figure out your swing and making adjustments and trying to lead-off and get on base and take pitches, it just doesn’t add up,” Gardenhire said before Tuesday’s day-night doubleheader against the Red Sox. “So I just told him, ‘I’m going to move you down and let you figure it out, find your swing.
