Michael Fulmer’s nightmare season is likely over.
The Detroit Tigers’ right-hander has meniscal damage in his left knee, an MRI scan on Monday morning showed, and though no official proclamation has been made, manager Ron Gardenhire said “probably not,” when asked if Fulmer would pitch again this season.
Fulmer is receiving a second opinion from renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews, who will review the results. With Andrews involved, it may suggest surgery is on the table.

“I have no idea what we expect from that,” Gardenhire said.
