Detroit Tigers' Michael Fulmer has knee surgery: 'Really good news'

As far as good news goes, Michael Fulmer will take it.

Though the Detroit Tigers’ ace right-hander is out for the season after undergoing a third surgery on his right knee on Thursday morning, the news from orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews couldn’t have been better.

“We were pleasantly surprised with what Dr. Andrews saw when he got in the knee,” Tigers head trainer Doug Teter said. “It wasn’t as in-depth and needed as much work as we thought he may.
