Detroit Tigers' Michael Fulmer has career-worst outing in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — Nothing was working from the start for Detroit Tigers right-handed pitcher Michael Fulmer on Thursday.

He gave up a leadoff home run to Francisco Lindor and went on to get pounded for a career-high nine runs (six earned) on eight hits over three-plus innings.

The Tigers lost, 9-3, on Thursday night at Progressive Field as the Indians completed a four-game series sweep.

The Tigers have lost 11 straight games against the Indians dating back to last season.

“I think you saw him yanking fastballs, trying to hit the outside corner,” Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said of Fulmer.
