If there were a reason to move Miguel Cabrera down in the batting order, Detroit Tigers manager AJ Hinch wouldn't hesitate to have the conversation.
But the Tigers (8-20) have lost 14 of their past 16 games because of offensive shortcomings. After Jeimer Candelario's .279 batting average, the next best everyday player is Wilson Ramos at .224, then Rule 5 draft pick Akil Baddoo at .212, Niko Goodrum at .211 and Robbie Grossman at .205. The numbers only get worse.
While Cabrera is going through a slump with his .125 batting average, so is almost everyone else.
