The Detroit Tigers fought hard last night against the Philadelphia Phillies before losing the game in the 15th inning. The game was tied 2-2 from the 6th inning up until Philly plated one more in the top of the 15th, winning the game 3-2. Both teams had stellar pitching, but couldn’t get much going on offense.
Matthew Boyd went for 6.0 innings and had eight strikeouts. He only gave up two runs off of a two-run homer in the top of the second. The bullpen pitched eight more scoreless innings after Boyd came out of the game but ultimately ended up giving up the losing run.
