Detroit Tigers lose Spencer Turnbull, then get swept by Rangers after 3-1 loss

A painful season for the Detroit Tigers got even more agonizing on Thursday.

The latest ache belonged to rookie right-hander Spencer Turnbull, who left a 3-1 loss to Texas after two innings with an undisclosed ailment. Turnbull made a beeline to the clubhouse after striking out Rougned Odor to end the second.

Turnbull entered the game second in strikeouts and fifth in ERA among major-league rookies. He got off to an impressive start this season but is 0-4 with a no-decision in five June starts.

It could be another blow to an already tattered starting staff.
